Kavan & Co
I've had image below pinned on my Pinterest for ages now, and I finally found the original source: Kavan & Co!
It goes without saying that I'm equally as in love with his other works. So much talent!

The Coveteur :: Mary Alice Stephenson
Not only does she have an amazing closet and wardrobe, but she is drop-dead gorgeous, successful and a philanthropist! Every woman should be so well-rounded.
I melt over perfectly styles vignettes such as the one above.
Stephenson advises: "Earrings are an instant outfit game changers. I love the drama they bring to my classics and tend to buy decadent chandelier earrings everywhere I go! Here's a little secret...when I'm exhausted and feeling the opposite of pretty, I pop on a pair so no one will look at my face. They just see all that pretty on my ears."

Wanderlusting :: Mumbai
Mumbai, also known as Bombay, is the most populated city in India, and the fourth most populated city in the world. The city is built across seven islands on the west coast of India...
Loose, flowing clothes are perfect for humid Indian weather. Bright colors are characteristic of Indian dress - have fun with it!

Line I Love :: Britt Ryan
I may be a little late to jump on this bandwagon, but I recently discovered this line and it's safe to say I am OBSESSED. As in I may love it more than I love J.Crew (which, if you know me, means a lot!).
Britt Ryan is a Boston-based clothing line that makes classic, preppy, fun pieces. It's a little Lily Pulitzer and a little J.Crew rolled into one. I spent more time than I'd like to admit yesterday drooling over the pieces on their website.. only to find out that dresses are in the $200-300 range. Burst my bubble :( Even used pieces on ebay are $100+! Way out of this girl's price range.
Pricing aside, we can still take some style notes from these outfits! Bright, bold patterns are definitely trendy this summer, and it shows in this collection!

Light & Bright
Loving these light and airy interiors...
My bedroom at my old Auburn apartment was decorated in all light colors.. white walls, white bedspread, white furniture - and I loved it! I picked that bedroom specifically because it got the most sunlight. This made it impossible to sleep in late with the sun shining in your eyes every morning - but I didn't mind. Except on mornings when I had been out late the night before.. then I cursed my bedroom decision. But that's a whole other topic. Haha.
My new apartment is more or less the complete opposite - dark furniture in the living room and bright, bold colors in my bedroom. It's meh. I miss my Auburn room, it was like my little oasis in the middle of the craziness of college.
One thing I've discovered moving around so much is that design is always, always evolving as you grow and your personal tastes change. You have to try new things to learn what you do and do not like.. and if you don't like something, try again! That's the beauty of design - it never has to be permanent. Changing the feel of a space is as easy as painting a wall, switching out accessories, or painting some furniture.
I'd love to hear your design stories. What was your college apartment like? Please share!

Have a Lovely Weekend
This post was supposed to be for yesterday, but I was in bed all day with a migraine so today will just have to do.
Summer is officially here at my family's house - school's out, pools are open - little brother #2 graduated from high school yesterday, and little brother #3 started his first day of lifeguarding today.

I encourage all of you to go outside and enjoy the sunshine this weekend! Take a trip to the beach, take a picnic to the park, go for a hike.. the options are endless!

W2WW :: Wear to Work Wednesday
Does anyone else notice a recurring theme with my posts? That may or may not have something to do with spring/summer, warm weather, and wanting to be outside (as opposed to in the office)?
I celebrated my one-year anniversary at my job last week. As exciting as that was, I couldn't help but realize that in that entire year I have not taken a single vacation.
The beach is calling my name....

One Day You're In, and the Next Day...
You're out. (In my head, this is said in Heidi Klum's voice from Project Runway).
Chevron, you're so out, and herringbone, you're oh so in.
Although these two looks are very similar, the recent chevron craze has left somewhat of a bad taste in my mouth lately. I'm love it, but I'm tired of it. See the above illustration for a more detailed view of what makes these two patterns different.
Both patterns are quintessentially European and, in my mind, just scream "apartment in Paris". However, I find the "flow" of the herringbone pattern much more visually pleasing than the sharp lines in chevron.
